Bieber is cheating, Billie Eilish does Bond and Pearl Jam goes Gigaton
Billie Eilish becomes the youngest Bond song composer
Billie Eilish, an artist whose rather short career is filled with breaking records, broke yet another one. Namely, she became the youngest artist ever to write and record a Bond song. Her still-untitled song will be featured in the upcoming movie named No Time to Die, latest part in the James Bond saga.
Besides making her a youngest "Bond artist“, this song puts her shoulder to shoulder with legends such as Paul McCartney, Adele, Jack White, Chris Cornell, Alicia Keys, Madonna, and Sam Smith.
Eilish wrote and composed the song with her brother Finneas, writes The Guardian, with whom she collaborated on all of her projects. The song will be released on April 2nd, while the film will hit the theaters on April 3rd (UK) and April 10th (US).
Reflecting on this decision, Eilish said in a statement: “It feels crazy to be a part of this in every way. To be able to score the theme song to a film that is part of such a legendary series is a huge honor. James Bond is the coolest film franchise ever to exist. I’m still in shock.”
Although she had already proved her fame to be a consequence of her talent, this is a great opportunity to win the skeptical minds.
Pearl Jam announce new album
After seven years and a lot of touring, Pearl Jam is ready to leave yet another mark on the world music scene. As Metal Injection writes, grunge icons have announced their eleventh studio album! It will be their first material since Lightning Bolt which came out in 2013.
The album is titled Gigaton and it will be out on March 27 on Monkeywrench Records and Republic Records. The album was produced by the band in collaboration with John Evans, who had collaborated with other grunge outfits such as Soundgarden and Mad Season. Album artwork was handled by the Canadian photographer, filmmaker, and marine biologist Paul Nicklen. On the cover is Nicklen's photography „Ice waterwall“.
Regarding the making process, band’s guitarist Mike McCready said: “Making this record was a long journey. It was emotionally dark and confusing at times, but also an exciting and experimental road map to musical redemption.”
The band has also promised to release the first single “Dance of the Clairvoyants” in the coming weeks. Besides the album, they have announced a North American tour to promote it.
Justin Bieber’s How-To-Boost Guide
Justin Bieber has made a comeback with his single “Yummy” and wanted to ensure his #1 in the U.S. charts. How did he do that? By telling his fans how to cheat his way up, of course.
In a now-deleted Instagram post that Pop Radar saved on time, Bieber shared a fan-made strategies to boost his single on the Hot 100 charts. The post encouraged international Bieber fans to use VPN to mask their IP addresses and then use Spotify to listen to the song as much as possible.
Other techniques included buying the song multiple times on Bieber’s website, play the Youtube video multiple times and not skip ads, play the song on low volume while you sleep, and buy the song on iTunes. Also, as Genius reports, Bieber has put seven different videos on Youtube.
The original caption on the fan post said: “Justin really wants that #1 and he is really excited about it as he said yesterday in his livestream. If you don’t want to do any of this it’s totally fine, just ignore the post. This is tips for the people who actually wants to do an extra effort!” Meanwhile, Bieber himself made a video where he asked fans to stream yummy because he really wants “this frickin spot”.
Good intentions or not, Bieber definitely seemed pretty desperate doing all this so it might just have a counter effect on his streaming numbers.
